Homecoming weekend might be one thing to UA Fans, but to others in the know, it’s the weekend of Kingfisher’s annual Oysterfest.  Now in its 10th year, this celebration of “all things oyster” will take place at the restaurant on Saturday, November 2nd from 10am to 2pm.  For those who enjoy these delectable delicacies, this is a gustatory celebration they won’t want to miss.  

Here’s the drill. At 10am, an experienced team of shuckers man their stations in a tent set up for the occasion in the front parking lot.  There they work for the next four hours prepping over a dozen different varieties of the finest, freshest oysters flown in from all over the country. Selections offered might include Crystal Point, Ranier and Totem Point from Washington State, Kumiai, from Viscaino Bay, Mexico, Malpeque and North Shore Gold from Prince Edwards Island, Canada, among others.

In addition to enjoying favorites on the half shell, a variety of other classic oyster dishes are offered including Guinness Oyster Stew, baked Oysters Rockefeller and Oysters Storyville, and Fried Oysters. Also on the menu -  New England and Manhattan Clam Chowders as well as a limited selection of favorites from the regular Kingfisher lunch menu.
